Existing advertising leaflets

I found a leaflet for the Mosi museum, the inside shows some of the ‘Must-see objects’, Events and a few Exhibits that they have there.
The color scheme for the leaflet is black, white and yellow, the yellow being the contrasting color that is used to highlight certain words or things. The front cover has an image of one of their main exhibit pieces, the Stephenson’s Rocket. One thing that I would critique is that the background of the image is black, which is the same as the Rocket, meaning that it is difficult to see it. The text on the cover is all in yellow, which is contrasting against the black background and makes the words stand out.
The font goes between being thick and thin, this helps to make certain words stand out more. Such as the ‘Highlights’ is in a thick font, meaning that it looks more bold, where as the ‘Free entry’ is more difficult to read since it is in a thinner font.
Another advertising Leaflet that I found is for their newest exhibition called ’Electricity’.

The poster is all black and white, with the background being black and the text being white. This makes the leaflet stand out against other leaflets that have a white background, also it matches with the other leaflet that I found for the museum.
The image on the poster is from the exhibit, this shows the viewer the types of things that they are going to see at the exhibition, also it is quite abstract which will catch the viewers attention.
The font for the text is the same as on the other leaflet, it also uses different thickness to add enthesis to certain words that may be more important. For instance the word ‘Electricity’ is thick, this is because it is the title of the exhibition so it is important. Whereas the words ‘The spark of life’ is thinner, as it is the tagline and not as important as the title of the exhibition.
